THE UNOFFICIAL TRAVELER

Getting to Know Jonathan
My name is Jonathan Dryer. I’m a southern guy with a love for adventure and the outdoors. I’m not afraid of taking risks for the experience of a lifetime. My astrological sign is a Sagittarius, so traveling and learning about the world hands-on is love.
I’m the youngest of five brothers and five sisters. My family has greatly influenced who I am today. I grew up traveling stateside for family reunions and vacationing during the summer. Travel was instilled in me at a young age so it naturally carried over into my adulthood.
As a single father of two beautiful daughters and the successful business owner of a trucking company, I feel the need to explore the world and bring along my daughters as much as possible. My hope for them is to make many fond memories similar to the ones that I now cherish as an adult.
I am the UnOfficial Traveler.
Speaking of Croatia: Part 7, Plitvice Lakes National Park
I didn’t know such beautiful places existed in the world. Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia has some of the most magnanimous combinations of waterfalls and lagoons I have ever seen, including places viewed on TV. Plitvice Lakes National Park The waterfall system...
Speaking of Croatia: Part 6, Krka National Park
I love waterfalls and lagoons and travel the world to see them. Have I seen them all? No, but have I seen movies and videos of tons of them? Yes. Krka National Park takes the cake for me. The Krka waterfall system is unique in that there are two large waterfalls that...
Speaking of Croatia: Part 5, Groznjan, Motovun, and Hum
Groznjan, Motovun, and Hum have great mountain views and small gardens and quiet cobblestone streets. You can sit outside and have coffee at one of the cafes right on the edge of the wall in Motovun and just enjoy leisure conversations and read about the history of...
Speaking of Croatia, Part 4: Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is by far the most spectacular, beautiful, and magical city in all of Croatia, and probably all of Europe, considering its size. Walking around this port city fortress, with towering steps on either side of one main road, was nothing short of a fantasy. To...
Speaking of Croatia: Part 3, Kayaking
I’m excited to share my adventurous kayaking experience in Croatia; the blue caves off the coast of Pula are fascinating! I booked this excursion for two specific reasons: I’d never been kayaking before, and I’d never been to an ocean cave, let alone gone cliff...
Speaking of Croatia: Part 2, Villages and Waterfalls
Groznjan, Motovun and Hum During my kayaking tour (which is a story of its own), I ended up befriending my guide, who recommended I visit three small (and I mean very small) villages in the mountains of Croatia called Groznjan, Motovun, and Hum. Many local Croatians...
